Alice in Wonderland House Decor
delete if OT
I'm sure this is one vague question, but a while back ago, I looked up Alice in Wonderland House DEcor, and some images of very modern looking Alice in Wonderland themed rooms, I just spend about 2 hrs trying to look for the same images, and no luck, can any of you guys suggest any links? The images I remember were very modern looking decor, with looks of mirror hanging on the wall. It used NON TRADITIONAL AWL colors ( red, black, white), but adhered to the theme regardless and made a modern interpretation of it. thanks.

Can anybody recommend books on contemporary architecture and contemporary design? I'm less interested in the history of the fields than I am in theory and pictures. I want lots of pictures. I can spend about 100 for 2-3 books (which I presume will be hardcover). I have a background in Western philosophy, literature, and 20thc theory (Lyotard, Foucault, Derrida, Bachelard, etc) Thanks.

This is my first post here...
I hope that someone could help me.
I am a student of Interior Design graduating this summer. So i have to elaborate my diploma work. But I can't find suitable floor planings for making 3D interior. The main aspect of environment that I am going to develop are - two level (preferable but not essential) flat or loft ( all other things could be variable).
So the main things are - split or two level apartment or/and apartment in attic zone. Quite spacious.
And format of floor planning - all of sorts (not essential AutoCAD or other 3D; 2D type, they can be pdf. jpg. etc.)
So If anybody can help with advice or even better have some kind of this type floor planning - let me know! I'll be greateful!

senior project help
Hello! I am a first time poster, but long time watcher of this community. I know that it is rarely posted to, so I hope someone can help me out on this.
I am about to start my last semester of my Interior Architecture program at University of Louisville, and for our final project, we need to find an existing location to design or re-design. I am requesting the help of anyone who owns a small business or property that you would like to contribute plans for to help me out, it would be most appreciated. All I need is your space, a small amount of your time, and your spacial needs/purposes Here are a few requirements of the space:
-must be a commercial space, not residential
-anywhere from 2000 to 8000-ish square feet
-if space is not already designated as something specific (office, retail, etc.), it would be helpful for "client" to create a real or fictional purpose for their space. For example, if you have the plans (preferably in CAD) for an existing space and it is currently not serving any purpose, you can inform me what you would like to accomplish in this space so i have something to work with
-I will need some contact (by email is fine) with the "client". This includes a brief interview of spacial/business needs, approval of design, etc. Frequency will be limited, as the most contact needed will be approval of electrical plans, ceiling plan, floor plan, etc.
You do not need to have a lot of design experience, just access to Autocad and a basic ability to read floor plans.
Location isn't important. If anyone is willing to help a future interiors graduate on this, it would most appreciative. It may be beneficial to you if you need interior design consultation on your space, as you can utilize my services and not have to pay for it! Your compensation to me will be helping me with my final project and helping me to further my education.
Thank you, and any information on where I could find help on this will be useful.

Ideas and suggestions wanted!
Here's an opportunity to go nuts and redesign someone else's room...I'm buying my first house and nearly all of the rooms are scruffy and need to be redecorated. I know what I'm going to do with most of them, but I'm totally stuck on what to do with the bathroom, so I thought I'd throw the metaphorical doors open to all of your ideas and suggestions!
It's quite a large room but the window is only fairly narrow so it doesn't get a huge amount of light. The bath, sink & toilet are all white and I don't intend to replace them. The floor is pale wood laminate, and the ceiling, bizarrely, is made of pine floorboards which makes the room look kind of upside down. I was vaguely planning to do it in shades of aqua/turquoise and have it quite bright, but I'm fairly sure that would look wrong with all the wood.( Here are some picturesCollapse )

I just found a fantastic thing...http://www.crownpaint.co.uk/expcolour/create/
You can upload photos of your rooms (it uploads them pretty much instantaneously) and then play about with making different bits of the room different colours so you can see what it'd look like if you painted it. I had so much fun! You get a bit carried away at times with "I wonder what it'd look like if I..." - I now know that I should never paint my kitchen bright orange!

Ideas for bedroom & dining room please!
I've just found this community and it's great to see all the pictures of different rooms that people have posted. I'm in the process of buying my first house and I want to redecorate most of the rooms as it's all either scruffy or just not to my taste. I don't have much money to do all this, and I have quite a few ideas but I've never really decorated a room myself so I'd like to bounce some ideas around and see what people think. I'd be really grateful for any suggestions or comments!( Photos of the house now, and my ideasCollapse )

First time poster, long time.... you know
Anyway, my name is Kristina and I have spent the past 2 months redoing my closet. It was used as disgusting storage that no one could get into it, and it was the room that led to the attic. I always wanted to have a seperate room for my computer and office stuff, so I thought the convert the closet into a mini office with some storage. I finally achieved my goal last night (after months and months of shelf problems). Anyway, check out the before and after pictures.
I still need to put stuff into boxes, get a monthly calendar for my door, and move my computer in there, but I am done :)( BeforeCollapse )( AfterCollapse )
This is the first time I ever transformed a room so I'm very happy about the results. Current Mood: accomplished

A tour of my little apartment...
I'm Lindsay - I live in Vancouver, BC in an apartment building built in 1908 which originally served as a travelers lodge. I ADORE it here - it's got 2 murphy beds, amazing sunshine and the most reliable heating I've ever experienced.
